HOURS: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Initial training will be conducted on day shift for approximately 1–2 weeks from 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Upon transition to second shift, a $2.00/hour shift differential will be added to the base hourly rate. 
JOB SUMMARY: 
This position exists to fabricate structural components based on blueprints and layout specifications 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
·         Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools 
·         Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using squares, rulers and measuring tapes 
·         Align and fit parts according to specifications using jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps in position for welding or riveting 
·         Analyze engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements and task sequences 
·         Move parts into position by hand or utilizing cranes and hoists  
·         Setup and operate fabricating devices such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drill presses to bend, cut form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components 
·         Hammer, chip, and grind workpieces to cut, bend, and straighten metal 
·         Mark reference points onto floors or face blocks and transpose them to workpieces using measuring devices, squares, chalk, and/or soapstone 
·         Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches 
·         Coordinate with welders to build up low spots or short pieces with welding 
·         Performs other duties as assigned 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
Work Experience: 3+ years welding/fitting experience  
Education: Highschool diploma/ GED or equivalent 
Related Experience: 
·         Attention to detail 
·         Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks; keep up in a fast-paced environment 
·         Modular building and/or solar installation experience 
·         Crane experience 
·         Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills 
WORK ENVIRONMENT: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights.  When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
