We are seeking a highly motivated, technically minded Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow our Alberta Area territory. In this role, you will transition between industrial plants, construction sites, and corporate offices, acting as a trusted technical consultant. You will identify opportunities to upgrade aging infrastructure, source hard-to-find components, and sell comprehensive refurbishment services directly to plant engineers, facility managers, and heavy-industrial contractors.

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive Equipment Sales: Secure new and repeat business for low-to-medium voltage switchgear, Motor Control Center (MCC) buckets, circuit breakers, and panel switches.
  • Promote Life Extension Services: Educate clients on the financial and operational benefits of equipment refurbishment, retrofitting, and component modernization.
  • Conduct Field Assessments: Visit industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, and substations to evaluate existing electrical lineups and identify upgrade opportunities.
  • Deliver Technical Consultations: Help clients solve obsolescence challenges by recommending modern retrofits or sourcing precise legacy replacements.
  • Manage Project Bidding: Collaborate closely with internal engineering and estimation teams to develop comprehensive, high-value custom proposals and bid packages.
  • Territory & CRM Management: Prospect daily for new industrial accounts while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients; track all pipeline activity accurately in our CRM.

Key Requirements

  • Technical Experience: 35 years of sales or technical experience specifically within electrical distribution, industrial automation, or power systems.
  • Product Knowledge: Solid understanding of circuit breakers, switchgear, MCCs, and the major manufacturing brands (e.g., Schneider/Square D, Eaton, Siemens, ABB/GE).
  • Solution-Selling Mindset: Proven ability to navigate long sales cycles, sell high-value engineering solutions, and speak effectively to both procurement and engineering teams.
  • Travel & Safety: Valid Alberta driver's license with a clean driving record for daily territory travel. Must be comfortable following strict on-site industrial safety protocols and wearing required PPE.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive Base Salary: Base pay tailored to experience, plus an uncapped commission structure tied to territory gross profit.
  • Vehicle Allowance: Monthly car allowance or company mileage reimbursement plan, plus a corporate fuel card.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance package starting after 90 days.
  • Tools for Success: Company-provided laptop, smartphone, and necessary diagnostic/safety equipment.
  • Professional Growth: Continuous technical training on the latest power distribution technologies, retrofitting techniques, and safety standards.
