Job Summary
With a high degree of demonstrated competency, deliver conscious sedation to patients during procedures as prescribed by the attending physician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide constant evaluation, observation and treatment of patients during procedure.
  • Review the patient’s chart. Maintain accurate documentation.
  • Assist in the safe transportation and positioning of patients if need be.
  • Assist with the counts and recording of narcotics at the beginning and end of the day.
  • Administer IV moderate sedation, including fentanyl and versed, per policy and physician’s orders.
  • Assist with emergencies in the operating room, as per policy.
  • Respect the confidentiality of patient, center and physician related information. Maintain confidentiality of patient records and use complete discretion when discussing patient information.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Perform other task as assigned by charge nurse, administrator or providers.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
  • Must have current GA nursing license, BLS, ACLS and other required training. Newly hired nurses will be given a 90-day grace period to obtain BLS and ACLS Certification.
  • Knowledge of equipment, instrumentation and supplies required to perform specific responsibilities
  • Demonstrated competency administering conscious sedation
