Modelling Simulation and Data Analyst roles share overlapping skills in data handling and analytical thinking. However, Modelling Simulation focuses on creating and testing models to predict system behavior, often in engineering contexts. Data Analysts interpret data to inform business decisions. Both roles require strong technical skills, but their applications and industries differ significantly.

Job description

Job Summary The Hydraulic Engineer is responsible for the full lifecycle of fluid-based systems, from initial conceptual design and modeling to onsite commissioning and maintenance. You will work closely with electrical and mechanical teams to integrate fluid power solutions into complex machinery, such as Hydraulic Power Units or industrial power packs. Key Responsibilities * System Design & Modelling: Create technically compliant hydraulic and pneumatic schematics based on customer specifications. Use Solid Works and simulation software to validate performance. * Component Selection: Specify and select appropriate fluid power components (pumps, valves, actuators, accumulators) to meet operational requirements. * Analysis & Documentation: Perform calculations (e.g., flow rate, pressure drop) and support design documents such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). * Testing & Commissioning: Oversee the assembly and testing of new machines, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). * Technical Support & Maintenance: Troubleshoot existing systems, conduct onsite repairs, and provide expert advice to clients and production teams. * BOM Management: Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and liaise with purchasing departments. Required Qualifications & Skills * Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering (Master's often preferred). * Technical Certification: Specialist training from recognized bodies like the National Fluid Power Centre (NFPC) or a Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly advantageous. * Software Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or specialized modeling software like HEC-RAS or SWMM. * Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose complex hydraulic failures and optimize system efficiency. * Compliance: Deep understanding of industry standards and safety legislation (e.g., ISO, ASME).
