Job description

The BIM Modeler is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining accurate Building Information Modeling (BIM) models using Autodesk Revit and related software tools, in alignment with the company's BIM standards and project requirements. Building Information Modelling (BIM) department is responsible for corporate strategic, management and production aspects of BIM, including visualizations, Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MX) or Augmented Reality (AR) simulations, and for Engineering Document Administration. Making key software implementation decisions and supporting teams.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and develop 3D models of our modular buildings for our ongoing projects

o    Model structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing elements in Revit (not required to know all from the start)

  • Generate shop drawings from the created 3D models of our buildings Work alongside our team of BIM Designers to dimension and annotate (fabrication and assembly instructions, welding symbols, taping symbols, etc.) all shop drawing pages
  • Work alongside our other BIM Designers to revise our shop drawings according to client comments as well as to requests/ suggestions from our Operations department

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required. Engineering or architecture/ design Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5 years of total CAD experience is required
  • 3 years of experience with Autodesk Revit. Additional knowledge of other CAD programs (ie: AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, etc.) is a plus
  • 2yrs of experience with Architectural/ MEP construction drawings and understanding of blueprints and technical cut sheets (Engineering Drawings) is required
  • Experience with Fabrication or Engineered Shop Drawings is required.
