This course covers the analysis of user requirements, the design of optimization models, and the implementation of solutions to improve efficiency and performance. It introduces the key concepts of systems thinking, emphasizing its application to both economic and hierarchical systems, and highlights the application of simulation, modeling, optimization, and management to economic systems.

Requirements:

Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, mathematics, operations research, or a closely related field with strong focus on AI/ML is required.
Experience teaching a similar course at the graduate level and/or undergraduate level
Experience working on projects involving optimization techniques, such as developing algorithms, modelling complex systems, or improving business processes, with applications in AI, machine learning, or data-driven decision systems.
Experience working with optimization tools and computational methods, such as Python, MATLAB, and/or optimization libraries/solvers
Familiarity with AI or data-driven approaches in optimization, such as machine learning-enhanced optimization, heuristic methods, and intelligent decision systems.
Demonstrated industry experience applying AI, optimization, or data-driven methods to real-world problems including areas such as system optimization, data analysis, or process improvement, is highly desirable
