Job Summary:

The Standard seeks a talented actuary to join our Retirement Plan (RP) projection modeling team. This role has a strong focus on ad-hoc and what-if analyses, new business model development, and strategic business initiatives. You will partner closely with modeling leaders and stakeholders to evaluate emerging opportunities, develop new modeling capabilities, and provide actuarial insights that support business growth, profitability analysis, risk management, and decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Retirement Plan (RP) projection modeling, including recurring projections, model enhancements, and actuarial analyses.
  • Develop and maintain GGY AXIS models to support financial reporting, risk management, business planning, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead model development efforts for new business opportunities, product enhancements, and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Perform complex or innovative ad-hoc analyses and communicate actionable insights to Product Line, Finance, Risk Management, and senior leadership.
  • Serve as a steward for assigned models by ensuring appropriate governance, testing, documentation, and control standards.
  • Support ALM, Cash Flow Testing (CFT), Effective Duration, and other projection-based risk and profitability analyses.

Skills and Background You'll Need:

Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in mathematics, actuarial science, business or a related field required

Certification: ASA designation required; FSA preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of actuarial experience with demonstrated expertise in actuarial projection modeling.
  • Developing and maintaining projection models supporting Retirement Plans, Individual Annuities, or similar long-duration insurance products.
  • Understanding of Asset Liability Management (ALM), Cash Flow Testing (CFT), projection-based risk analysis, and Retirement Plan or Individual Annuity products.
  • Prior experience supporting new business initiatives, model development, and complex ad-hoc actuarial analyses.
  • Ability to translate business questions into modeling solutions and communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills:

  • Strong hands-on GGY AXIS experience (required)
  • Advanced skills in Excel (required)
  • Python, Power BI, VBA experience (preferred)

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.

The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.

Salary Range:

$131,750.00 - $192,500.00
