Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant to work in the Department of Health Informatics.
Under the direction of Principal Investigator, Temporary Research Assistant will build and test analysis pipelines for Next Generation Sequencing data (including Single Cell Sequencing) from cancer patients (with special focus on prostate cancer) using Unix/Linux computing cluster and apply this pipeline for novel machine learning model.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Build and test analysis pipelines for Next Generation Sequencing data (including Single Cell Sequencing), using shell/python scripting on Amarel computing cluster.
  • Using these pipelines, download and analyze clinical and Next Generation Sequencing data for prostate cancer patients from public repositories (including dbGaP).
  • Develop and apply machine learning algorithms to associate patterns in the data with cancer progression and therapeutic response in prostate cancer patients.
  • Participate in generating data for grant reporting.
