Modeling & Simulation Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Full-time
Hampton Roads, VA (including Norfolk, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Newport News)

About Us

Trideum Corporation is a 100% employee-owned company, committed to embracing the world’s toughest challenges with a servant’s heart. Through dedicated hard work and commitment, we provide distinctive quality and unparalleled customer service in all aspects of our business. We also know that our employees are the key to our success, and it is our mission to take care of them so they can take care of our customers and communities where we live, work, and play.

Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about leading cross-functional efforts, interfacing with multiple government, business and academia stakeholders, and advising in a technical, innovative setting.

The selected candidate will fill an immediate hybrid, teleworking opening supporting our government customer, Headquarters Department of the Army, Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, G-2. The person in this role will assess, advise, and integrate across multiple Army and Defense Department Modeling & Simulation Communities of Interest, which are Acquisition, Analysis, Experimentation, Intelligence, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Subject areas include modeling & simulation topics, systems architectures, data and tools supporting capability development efforts for system design, high level architectures, interface and software requirements. This person will interface with government leaders to provide integration of and advice about technical information to meet customer requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to manage the delivery of results to our customers through and across the Army’s Modeling & Simulation Communities of Interest. This role requires interpersonal skills, the ability to conduct research, collaboration with multiple organizations, creativity, innovation, and the application of engineering approaches to work with experienced engineers, software developers, and stakeholders to align technical requirements to meet Army program objectives and milestones. The Subject Matter Expert candidate must coordinate across many Army organizations, conceptualize solutions, align to policy, and make policy recommendations while collaborating with others to examine new technologies and implications to meet customer needs. The successful candidate will collaboratively work with other Army subordinate commands, activities, and organizations to understand and advise upon Modeling & Simulation implications to broad Army organizational program plans and requirements.

What You’ll Do

Engage with government Modeling & Simulation developers, contracting personnel, and business partner stakeholders spanning the application of tools, data, and services to support multiple Army communities—acquisition, analysis, experimentation, intelligence, test & evaluation, and training.

Develop technical assessments of current approaches, identify areas for modernizing tools, data and services, conduct technical cross-functional collaborative meetings with Army stakeholders, and consolidate findings and recommendations.

Interface with government Modeling & Simulation users regarding their organizational requirements, budget, budget execution, and spending plans to assess and recommend improvements to advance Army Intelligence Security Enterprise (AISE) models and simulations.

Prepare and communicate monthly written activity reports and provide progress updates through routine interaction with government managers.

Advise and assist with selected AISE community model and simulation project efforts that may include software development, data management approaches and “as a service” design recommendations.

Travel. Travel to CONUS government location sites (up to 25%).

Requirements and Qualifications

  • MS in Modeling & Simulation field or related STEM graduate technical degree.
  • 12+ years of DoD-systems related project management, systems integration, and engineering design.
  • Experience developing cross-functional assessments, integration of multiple organizational uses for modeling and simulation tools, data and services for a US government organization or agency.
  • Demonstrated success in key technical customer liaison roles, such as primary point of contact to customers, co-contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Experience communicating project and program status through recurring written and oral presentations.
  • Experience researching, writing and developing Modeling & Simulation topics to describe complex concepts, white papers, and topic area recommendations for fellow researchers as well as non-technical stakeholders.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance, SCI eligibility

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience designing and applying systems engineering to deliver complex systems.
  • Experience in the Department of Defense or Military Service Headquarters working with Modeling & Simulation or Digital Engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
