SIMULATION ENGINEER 

JOB SUMMARY: 

Simulation of assembly processes based on customer requirements, quality systems,financial investment and labor plans.  Verify the implementation of new processes, and selection of equipment to be purchased. Resolve issues with quality plans, product design, manufacturability, or build process steps.  Participate in adoption of new technologies and processes to achieve greater efficiency.  Consults on selection and implementation of automation and robotics in assembly processes.   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Layout and simulate manufacturing plans for new programs that will require new equipment or retool of existing equipment. 

  • Model operational environments, perform system simulations and recommend alternative architectures. 

  • Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks assess system survivability, system effectiveness, and overall system performance in engagement / mission-level scenarios. 

  • Build simulation library of standard equipment kinetics. 

  • Lead the creation of plant layouts in 3D software. 

  • Identify Gather all relevant product information, production rates and assembly requirements from customer contacts. 

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to gather necessary data and communicate intermediate and results. 

  • Work with other disciplines to ensure the necessary details related to the process and the model are fully coordinated. 

  • Work with other engineers and analysts to develop new and/or integrate existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models. 

  • Work with PC&L team to optimize material flow to production line. 

  • Use process simulation to design intent OEE. 

  • Promote health and safety in all phases of engineering and launch. 

  • Maintain equipment records by updating equipment database. 

  • Protect organization value by keeping information confidential, cautioning others regarding potential breaches.  

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and have a positive attitude. 

  • Effectively interact with, lead and develop people. 

  • Teach, lead, and continuously improve all areas of the business. 

  • All other duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, computer sciences, or mechanical engineering. 

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in assembly and/ or manufacturing and 2+ years of experience with manufacturing simulations.   

  • Supervisory experience in the manufacturing field is preferred 

TRAVEL: 

  • Travel Required: Minimal 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

  • General understanding of manufacturing processes, Android operations (sequencing, sub-assembly, shipping and receiving, and tooling). 

  • Strong knowledge of tooling, equipment, automation, engineering specifications, and cost reduction in automotive assembly applications. 

  • High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills where problems are unusual and difficult. 

  • Strong decision-making skills with ability to grasp technical concepts quickly. 

  • Proficient with GD&T process diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with all team members – manufacturing, engineering, executive leadership, etc. 

  • High level computer skills includingWindows applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD 

  • Fluent in a variety of programming languages, software, scripting applications, and systems. 

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. 

  • Experience with Siemens Line Designer, Process Simulation, and Plant Simulation 

  • C+andC++experience
