General Job Summary:

The Senior Design Analyst - checker/modeler/drafter shall have an expert knowledge of drafting methods, procedures, techniques, and GD&T. Checks, creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering. The analyst shall also possess a working knowledge of Siemens NX preferred or PTC CREO 3D CAD software. PLM software: Team Center or Windchill and SAP experience is desirable.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Duties are performed under minimal supervision.
  • Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
  • Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.
  • Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.
  • Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
  • As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. May be informal team leader.
  • Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

A Senior Design Analyst - checker/modeler/drafter must have the skills and experience to perform the following tasks:

  • Check/prepare models and detail drawings of complex parts.
  • Check/prepare models and drawings of complex assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Work closely with engineering to incorporate all requirements into a design.
  • Manage and prepare large assemblies, including parts list/BOM creation.
  • Comply with all related specifications in the preparation of product definition.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GD&T principles and ability to interpret and apply to complex to highly complex designs.
  • Prepare tolerance stack-ups of complex to highly complex designs.
  • Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties.
  • Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.
  • Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including, for example training, reviewing and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment and changes, and more.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job.

Education and Experience:

  • A.S. degree in Drafting and Design Technology or equivalent is required.
  • 10 to 12 years of experience

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motion with wrists/hands (keyboarding, mouse, phones).
