Job description

As a Traffic Demand Modeler, you will lead and oversee the development of comprehensive traffic models for various projects, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Lead the development and implementation of travel demand models for transportation projects.
  • Experience with microsimulation and other traffic analysis techniques is a plus, but not required
  • Serve as a technical authority on travel modeling methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and planners to integrate modeling into project delivery 
  • Manage modeling tasks, schedules, and deliverables from project initiation through completion
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and agencies 
  • Review and ensure quality of modeling work through established QA/QC processes
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, supporting technical growth and career progression
  • 12+ years of experience in traffic and transportation modeling
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or related field from an accredited program, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong expertise in travel demand modeling
  • Proficiency with at least one travel demand modeling tool such as Cube, TransCAD, and/or TransModeler
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and delivering complex transportation projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
