Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineer (level 4) to join its team. This position is in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you'll get to do:
As an integral part of our AVE MS&A Horizontal Integration team on the Sentinel program you will focus on driving operational and technical efforts and initiatives across the MS&A department and broader AVE Systems Engineering & Integration organization. The duties of this job will be to integrate across the various AVE MS&A teams; Flight Analysis, Targeting, Structures and Aero/Fluids to help coordinate activities/analysis that cross these disciplines. The role will also include horizontal integration across other IPTs with in AVE, such as Guidance, Payloads, OBTE, etc. The selected candidate will be required to have ability to present difficult concepts to management and to lead integrated efforts to get results across the finish line.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with a minimum 8 years of related experience; 6 years with a Master's; or 4 years with a PhD
  • 1 year of technical experiences in mechanical/aerospace product development
  • 1 year of experience with MATLAB, Python, C++, or similar
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope9<6 years), with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Self-starter with strong technical problem-solving skills, an aptitude for coordination across diverse teams to drive efforts to closure
  • Broad technical experiences in mechanical/aerospace engineering of missiles/launch vehicles
  • Experience in systems engineering principles including requirements development, decomposition and allocation, MBSE (CAMEO or similar)
  • Experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) verification and validation (MIL-STD 3022)
  • Experience with physical testing, instrumentation, Design of Experiments
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
