Job description

As a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) at MTSI, you will work as an integral member of a government/contractor team in support of the Missile Defense Agency Transformation Task Force. The team constructs, manages, and conducts discrete mission engineering and analysis to evaluate the efficacy of enterprise and weapon systems, new technologies, and capabilities applied in new mission concepts of employment to meet evolving joint mission objectives.
Responsibilities and areas of support include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Collaborate with product owners, from different DoW customer programs, and senior leadership to fully understand the background, purpose, and goals of each project
  • Generate system concept of operations, concept of employment, and requirements documentation
  • Participate in system requirements reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical documentation
  • Review system engineering documentation to ensure specifications and data infrastructure meet system needs and are accurate
  • Define and protype Cameo models to support technical and programmatic analysis

Qualifications include:
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering approach to Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or Cameo Systems Architect
  • Use strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment; present and explain technical information to colleagues, management or sponsors.
  • Knowledge or recent experience integrating systems processes and/or software development methodologies, planning, designing, and analyzing functional system processes - either hardware or software-based systems.
  • Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary project team that may include engineers, scientists, designers, and technicians.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • 10+ years of experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft products, including Office and SharePoint.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Certifications that validate proficiency in systems engineering and modeling
  • Model-Based Engineering Certification: Specialized training in MBSE methodologies.
  • Experience with and knowledge of Missile Defense Agency weapon systems and sensors
  • Experience and a demonstrated record of success developing and implementing innovative solutions for a diverse range of highly complex multi-disciplinary problems and devising corrective actions where necessary.
