A day in the life...

The Server Assistant (Food Runner/Support) plays a critical role in maintaining the rhythm, flow, and energy of the dining room. This position supports servers and leadership to ensure every guest experience feels seamless, polished, and welcoming - without ever feeling stiff or formal. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow within hospitality and learn the foundations of elevated service.


Key Responsibilities:

Dining Room Support

  • Deliver food to tables promptly and accurately, describing dishes with confidence
  • Assist in clearing, resetting, and maintaining tables to high presentation standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, patio, and bar areas
  • Refill water, polish glassware, and ensure tables remain guest-ready

Guest Interaction

  • Greet guests warmly when interacting at the table
  • Anticipate guest needs and communicate proactively with servers
  • Support a service style that is refined yet relaxed

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with servers, bartenders, and culinary team to maintain service flow
  • Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and tastings
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency during peak summer season

Operational Standards

  • Ensure proper handling of flatware, glassware, and service equipment
  • Support wine service as directed
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
