Experienced Conductor – Rail Operations

Location: Beaumont, TX
Starting Pay: $23–$25/hour (commensurate with experience), with room to grow!
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends)
Type: Full-Time | In Person

Advance Your Career on the Rails

Iron Horse Terminals is seeking experienced Conductors (or advanced Switchmen ready to promote) to join our growing rail operations team in Beaumont, TX. We operate a fast-paced yard where safety, precision, and teamwork are non-negotiable.

If you're an experienced rail worker who’s ready to take the lead — or someone working toward full FRA certification — we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and direct train movements in our yard and on local track
  • Execute and interpret switch lists and movement plans with a small crew
  • Communicate clearly by radio and hand signals
  • Perform track switches, coupling/uncoupling, air brake checks, and safety inspections
  • Ensure compliance with all FRA and company safety rules and procedures
  • Support efficient, error-free railcar movement and logistics
  • Promote a strong safety culture and model professionalism for newer crew

What You Bring

  • FRA Conductor certification preferred, or relevant rail experience with ability to certify quickly
  • 1–3+ years in rail switching, train crew, or conductor roles
  • High safety awareness and attention to detail
  • Solid communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all conditions and on rotating shifts
  • Basic problem-solving and route planning aptitude
  • High reliability and commitment to being on time and ready to work every shift

Why Iron Horse?

  • Career growth: Engineer track available after Conductor
  • Company-paid HMO health insurance for employees
  • Dental, vision, and retirement benefits
  • Paid time off and set shift schedules — not on-call

Serious Work. Real Responsibility.

As a Conductor at Iron Horse, you’ll lead small, tight-knit crews, make safety-critical decisions, and help shape the yard’s daily performance. We’re growing fast — and we promote from within. If you’re ready for more than just a job, join a team that rewards safety, skill, and leadership.
