Job description

Position Summary

The Model Integration Manager plays a critical role in translating Growing Together’s strategy into coordinated, actionable practice across the organization. This individual serves as a cross-functional connector, systems thinker, and implementation partner, ensuring that programs, operations, communications, and partnerships are aligned to drive measurable outcomes.

Working closely under the Sr. Director of Strategy & Operations, this role blends project management, organizational integration, and creative problem-solving to ensure that our work “makes sense” across teams and contributes to a unified, mission-driven impact.

This is an ideal role for someone who is a systems-level thinker and connector who is highly organized, adaptive, relational, and visionary, with the ability to both “catch and carry the vision” and translate it into clear processes, aligned workflows, and coordinated execution.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Integration & Strategic Alignment

  • Support the implementation of Growing Together’s Theory of Change and Strategic Plan by aligning programs, initiatives, and internal operations.
  • Ensure that work across teams is connected, complementary, and advancing shared outcomes, rather than siloed efforts.
  • Identify gaps, redundancies, and misalignments, and proactively recommend solutions to strengthen organizational coherence.

Cross-Team Coordination & Project Management

  • Serve as a central coordinator and occasional project leader/manager for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Develop and manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure key projects move forward effectively.
  • Facilitate continuous or ad-hoc cross-team meetings, working groups, and communication rhythms to identify areas of opportunity to meet shared goals, align collaboration and keep efforts synchronized and accountable.

Process Design & Continuous Improvement

  • Design, document, and refine internal processes, workflows, and systems that support effective program delivery and organizational efficiency.
  • Introduce, facilitate and reinforce best practices in continuous planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Support teams and partners in developing clear, repeatable processes that enhance consistency and scalability to meet specific program and collective, cross-sector goals.

Impact Measurement & Learning

  • Collaborate with leadership and program teams to track key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with organizational goals.
  • Translate data and feedback into actionable insights that improve program effectiveness and decision-making.
  • Support a culture of learning, reflection, and continuous improvement.

Communication & Alignment

  • Act as a bridge between strategy and execution, ensuring that staff understand priorities, expectations, and how their work contributes to the broader mission.
  • Help unify internal messaging, ensuring clarity and consistency across programs and teams.
  • Create tools, summaries, dashboards, or visuals that help the organization “see the whole” and stay aligned.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain organized systems for tracking plans, decisions, processes, and program documentation (e.g., SharePoint or similar platforms).
  • Ensure that key learnings, frameworks, and tools are accessible and usable across the organization.
  • Support transparency and clarity in how work is defined, executed, and evaluated.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with program staff, leadership, and external partners to ensure collaborative alignment and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Strengthen communication between different functional areas, including programs, operations, and partnerships.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3–7+ years of experience in project management, program coordination, strategy implementation, or organizational development (nonprofit or mission-driven context preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and keep work moving forward.
  • Strong organizational and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to connect big-picture strategy to day-to-day execution.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams.
  • Experience creating and improving processes, workflows, or operational systems.
  • Proficiency with collaboration and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint, project management platforms).

Preferred

  • Experience in place-based work, community development, education, or nonprofit ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with theory of change frameworks, impact measurement, or strategic planning.
  • Experience supporting cross-organizational alignment or integrated service delivery models.
  • Background in continuous improvement, design thinking, or systems change work.

Core Competencies

  • Systems Thinking: Sees connections across programs, people, and processes.
  • Execution & Follow-Through: Moves ideas into action and ensures completion.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in evolving environments and shifting priorities.
  • Relational Leadership: Builds trust and fosters collaboration across teams.
  • Clarity & Translation: Makes complex ideas simple and actionable.
  • Creativity & Initiative: Brings energy, ideas, and forward momentum.

Impact of This Role

This role is essential to ensuring that Growing Together operates as a cohesive, high-functioning system, rather than a collection of separate efforts. By strengthening alignment, improving processes, and supporting effective implementation, the Model Integration Specialist will directly contribute to:

  • Greater organizational efficacy and impact
  • Stronger alignment with mission and vision
  • Increased clarity, coordination, and momentum across teams
  • More effective delivery of programs and services to the community

Why Join Growing Together?

This is a unique opportunity to help shape and operationalize a holistic, place-based strategy that is making a real difference in the Kendall Whittier community. You will be part of a mission-driven, collaborative team working at the intersection of education, housing, economic development, and community leadership
