Job description

We Make Everything Around Us Better

At PRIME AE, that’s not a slogan, it’s how we work.

Every bridge, building, campus, park, and roadway we design exists to improve how people live, move, learn, and connect. Through architecture, engineering, planning, and consulting, we partner with clients to create thoughtful, practical solutions that leave communities stronger than we found them.

If you want your work to matter, and to be surrounded by smart, collaborative people who care about doing things the right way, you’ll feel at home here.

Who We Are:

PRIME AE Group, Inc. (www.primeeng.com) is a nationally ranked, full-service architecture and engineering firm driven by collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to strengthening the communities we serve. With a growing footprint of offices across the country and a diverse team of more than 590 professionals, we partner with public and private sector clients to deliver thoughtful, high-impact solutions across transportation, education, healthcare, municipal, federal, commercial, and recreational markets.

Our culture blends entrepreneurial energy with the resources of a scaled, multidisciplinary platform—giving our people the opportunity to shape meaningful projects while influencing the future direction of the firm. As PRIME AE continues to expand its capabilities, geographic reach, and leadership bench, this is an exciting time to join a team that is building momentum, investing in growth, and empowering leaders to make a lasting impact.

The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Building Information Modeling Coordinator (BIM Coordinator) to join our Akron, Columbus, Baltimore, Jacksonville, or Pensacola office.

In this role, you will lead and enhance digital project delivery efforts across PRIME AE’s multidisciplinary teams. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and BIM staff across multiple offices to drive BIM standards, improve workflows, and ensure seamless coordination from design through construction. In addition, you will provide leadership in model management, project coordination, quality control, and digital production support.

You will play a key role in promoting consistency, efficiency, and innovation across a diverse portfolio of projects while contributing to a nationally recognized firm that offers flexible hybrid work environments and opportunities for professional growth.

What You’ll Do:

As a Building Information Modeling Coordinator (BIM Coordinator), you will oversee the implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across projects and teams. You will provide technical leadership, mentor BIM staff, and collaborate closely with project teams to support high-quality digital project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead BIM workflows, 3D model development, clash detection, and multidisciplinary coordination across Architectural, Interior Design, Structural, and MEP disciplines. PRIME AE primarily utilizes Revit and AutoCAD for project production.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of BIM standards, templates, families, and company libraries.
  • Partner with project managers and technical teams to ensure BIM models align with project objectives, client requirements, and PRIME AE quality standards.
  • Oversee project setup, model management, file-sharing protocols, and BIM coordination throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for BIM-related questions, troubleshooting, and complex model coordination issues.
  • Lead interdisciplinary BIM coordination meetings and proactively identify and resolve model conflicts.
  • Support the development and implementation of client-specific BIM standards, including DoD, DoT, Marriott, and other client requirements, as applicable.
  • Collaborate with PRIME AE’s IT team on BIM software implementation, updates, licensing, integrations, and related technology initiatives.
  • Support visualization, rendering coordination, and model-based project documentation.
  • Evaluate emerging BIM technologies, tools, and workflows and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and collaboration.
  • Lead and support BIM training initiatives, mentor BIM users, and assist with onboarding and development of new team members.
  • Collaborate with PRIME AE’s Marketing team to support BIM-related graphics, visualizations, project demonstrations, and presentation materials.
  • Promote consistent BIM execution and digital delivery standards across offices, disciplines, and project teams.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5–8+ years of BIM usage, BIM coordination, BIM management, digital design, or related experience within the A/E/C industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading BIM coordination efforts for multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Enscape, and Lumion is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of BIM processes, model coordination, and digital project delivery throughout design and construction.
  • Experience developing, implementing, or improving BIM standards, templates, workflows, and digital delivery practices.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple offices and disciplines.
  • Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to BIM users and project team members.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) BIM standards is preferred but not required.
  • Revit Certified Professional certification and/or active involvement in BIM User Groups is preferred but not required.

Why PRIME AE:

We don’t just fill positions; we invest in people.
