Who We Want:
Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs dies, die components, and tooling used in the production process. Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, and sets up and operations machine tools to make and repair dies.
What You'll Do:
  • Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to
    fabricate parts.
  • Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, shaper, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to
    specifications.
  • Lifts machined parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable.
  • Smooths flat and contoured surfaces using power grinders and fits and assembles parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms.
  • Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
  • Heat treats tools or parts.
  • Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
  • Troubleshoot tooling analysis and resolve problems to obtain quality level of parts.
  • Follow all safety precautions and company policies to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Utilize calipers, micrometers, gauge pins and blocks, various other types of measurement equipment.
  • When and Where:
    This will be a Y Shift / 5AM-5PM F-SU position located at our Plant in Pontiac, MI.
    What You Need to Have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Journeyman or completed apprenticeship (preferred).
  • Must have minimum 2+ years of verifiable tool and die experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
  • Mastercam and Solidworks experience (preferred).
  • Must have intermediate level of machining and metal working experience.
  • Strong mechanical and shop math aptitude (preferred).
  • Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions.
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day, including Saturday and Sunday. Must be able to obtain a hi-lo license.
