Job description

About KX
KX software powers the time-aware data-driven decisions that enable fast-moving companies to outpace competitors, realizing the full potential of their AI investments. The KX platform delivers transformational value by addressing data challenges related to completeness, timeliness and efficiency, ensuring companies understand change over time and can achieve faster, more accurate insights at any scale, cost-effectively.
KX is essential to the operations of the world's top investment banks, aerospace and defence, high-tech manufacturing, healthcare and life sciences, automotive and fleet telematics organizations. The company has established offices and a robust customer base across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
Overview Of The Role
KX is hiring a Developer Advocate. We're expanding the KX Developer Relations (DevRel) team to drive reusable technical enablement and community growth with hands-on content that maps directly to core capital markets use-cases. The main deliverable is the technical enablement of sellers, presales engineers, customers, and community members to experience how KX turns historical, intraday, and real-time market data into decisions that drive value and capture alpha.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and ship repeatable standard demos across the capital markets workflow, emphasizing value driven outcomes like faster signal, accelerated algo research-to-prod, and enhanced alpha capture.
  • Package each use-case with a technical storytelling deck, live demo, persona-specific talking points, video recording, and click-through demos; centralize access and enable ad-hoc deployment with minimal setup.
  • Cover cross-cutting topics with smaller, high-leverage assets (deck + demo + blog/webinar): AI agent integration (e.g., MCP), lakehouse interoperability, GPU/NVIDIA acceleration.
  • Partner tightly with Product Management, Product Marketing, and Presales/TAM to align essential messaging to personas and verticals (hedge fund, market maker, asset manager), overcome market challenges, collect feedback, and improve the framework.
  • Evangelize and enable the community (Internal & External) by running webinars, training sessions, conference talks, blogs/tutorials, and curating a strong social media presence.

Essential Experience
  • 5+ years in solutions engineering/architecting or developer relations building credible, data-heavy solutions, demos, and prototypes.
  • Kdb+/q proficiency: experience handling low-latency time-series data, designing queries, building efficient data pipelines (data engineering), using attributes, and optimizing data storage/retrieval workflows
  • Strong Python (PyKX a plus) and SQL
  • Comfort with streaming (Kafka), containers (Docker), basic Kubernetes

Skills
  • Fluency with market data (tick/reference data), order book structure, and backtesting workflows; ability to reason about latency-critical vs. intraday/EOD decision-timeliness.
  • Understanding of tick architectures (tickerplant/RDB/IDB/HDB)
  • Experience with cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • DevRel: you can present, teach, write, demo, create social media content, and interact with and grow the developer community.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct capital markets experience (quant, trader, market maker, market risk management, etc)
  • Experience with GPU acceleration and NVIDIA ecosystem, AI agent patterns (incl. MCP), RAG/vector search, and lakehouse integrations.
  • Familiarity with capital markets regulated workflows and surveillance scenarios.

Location & Workplace Type
New York Hybrid working model based out of (Insert location/working model)
Salary Range
$125,000.00 -$200,000.00 dependant on experience
Why Choose KX
  • Data Driven: We lead with instinct and follow fact.
  • Naturally Curious: We lean in, listen and learn fast.
  • All In: We take ownership, take on challenges and give it our all.

Benefits
  • Competitive Salary
  • Individually tailored training and skills development
  • Private healthcare package and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity package
  • Wellness Days and Volunteer Days
