Join Our Creative Team – New Orleans (Elmwood, LA)

Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group is seeking temporary Builder/Maker support for our Elmwood, Louisiana production facility. This role is ideal for hands-on creatives who enjoy building immersive environments and can jump in to support active production projects.

As part of our creative shop, you’ll assist in constructing scenic elements, props, and set pieces used across our portfolio of haunted attractions, immersive experiences, and live events. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where flexibility, craftsmanship, and reliability are key.


Job Title: Builder/Maker (Temporary Support)
Department: Creative Shops
Employment Type: Temporary (Full-time and part-time hours may be available based on project needs)


Position Overview
The Builder/Maker will support the fabrication and assembly of scenic builds and props, working closely with designers and shop leads to execute projects efficiently and safely. This role is focused on production support and requires the ability to follow direction, meet deadlines, and maintain quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and assembling scenic elements such as walls, platforms, props, and set pieces

  • Work with a variety of materials including wood, foam, plastics, and basic metals

  • Safely operate standard shop tools and equipment (saws, drills, sanders, etc.)

  • Support event setup and teardown, including installation of scenic elements

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

  • Follow build plans, direction, and safety guidelines

  • Assist with general shop needs and production support tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in construction, fabrication, scenic building, or related field preferred

  • Ability to use basic shop tools safely and effectively

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction

  • Flexibility to work varied hours based on production schedules


This is a temporary, nonexempt, hourly position based in Elmwood, Louisiana. Employment is atwill, and hours and assignment length may vary based on production and business needs. This temporary role is not eligible for companysponsored benefit plans, except as required by applicable law.
