Job description

Crystal Springs Resort is seeking an experienced and service-driven Sports Club Supervisor to assist in leading the daily operations of the Minerals Sports Club. This leadership position works closely with the Sports Club Manager to ensure exceptional member and guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards of service, safety, and operational excellence.

The Sports Club Supervisor serves as the Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of the Sports Club Manager and is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating daily operations, managing schedules, overseeing special events, and collaborating with departments across the resort to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Support the Sports Club Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Sports Club, ensuring all departments operate efficiently and consistently meet resort standards.
  • Serve as the Manager on Duty (MOD) when the Sports Club Manager is unavailable, making operational decisions and providing leadership to the team.
  • Create, manage, and maintain employee schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels while maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and motivate team members while fostering a positive, professional, and service-focused work environment.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by proactively assisting members and guests while professionally resolving concerns, complaints, and service recovery situations.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, setting up, and executing special events, member programs, tournaments, and seasonal activities hosted by the Sports Club.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Security, Sales, and other resort departments to ensure seamless communication and daily operations.
  • Oversee the presentation, cleanliness, and overall condition of fitness areas, pools, locker rooms, recreation spaces, and other club facilities.
  • Monitor compliance with all health, safety, risk management, and operational procedures, including pool safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and operational reporting as needed.
  • Promote a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment that reflects Crystal Springs Resort's commitment to outstanding hospitality.
Required Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring flexibility based on business needs. The regular schedule includes:

  • Sunday – Morning Shift
  • Monday – Morning Shift
  • Tuesday – Morning Shift
  • Wednesday – Evening Shift
  • Thursday – Evening Shift

Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and additional shifts as business demands require.

QualificationsRequired Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressive management experience in a sports club, fitness center, hotel, resort, country club, or recreation facility, including at least one (1) year in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large teams (50+ employees preferred), including scheduling, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
  • Experience overseeing aquatics operations, fitness facilities, recreation programming, and member services.
  • Strong luxury hospitality background with a passion for delivering exceptional member and guest experiences.
  • Experience partnering with Engineering, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Security, Sales, and other operational departments.
  • Working knowledge of pool operations, facility maintenance, health and safety regulations, and risk management.
  • Experience planning and executing special events, tournaments, member programming, and seasonal activities.
  • Proven ability to resolve member concerns while maintaining professionalism and delivering effective service recovery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Recreation, Business, or a related field is a plus.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.
  • Experience using scheduling and club management software, including Virtual ClubMate or similar systems.
  • Previous experience working in a luxury resort, private club, or destination hospitality environment.
