Job description

The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for overseeing the guest experience on the casino floor and supporting the management of all operations.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • They lead and motivate staff, handle customer issues, manage schedules, and maintain a safe and efficient environment. The point person for all operational matters during their shift.
  • Communicating with upper management regarding operations, issues, and improvements.
  • Enhance the guest experience by maintaining a heightened awareness of the casino floor, actively monitoring service delivery.
  • Acting as the decision-maker during their shift, especially when dealing with urgent or unexpected situations.
  • Oversee the daily bar operations and manages service staff in accordance with Tuscany Suites & Casino operating policies to ensure overall guest experience meets and exceeds expectations.
  • Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction by building relationships with the guests and encourages employees to build relationships with the guests.
  • Ensures compliance with SNHD regulations for sanitation and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding food and alcoholic beverage service.
  • Responsible for the ordering of all supplies as necessary to support bar operations.
  • Conduct monthly inventories to track monthly shortages and equipment needs.
  • Oversee the cost of inventory and supplies and submit reports on a periodic basis. Review cost increases.
  • Communicate with vendors to review charges and apply strategies to lower costs when possible.
  • Responsible for the purchasing of new products for all bars and outlets including new lines of draft beers.
  • Plan and organize how beverage systems will be set-up, direct and supervise employees working with beverages, and evaluate the overall effectiveness of the system.
  • Analyzes and evaluates beverage department profits and loss statements and makes recommendations as to alternative courses of action.
  • Practice effective cost control procedures for all operating, maintenance, and supply costs.
  • Assist with proper merchandising execution to maximize sales, earnings, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare layout for use in conducting store inventory and cycle counts and organizes staff and merchandise in this process.
  • Complete onboarding, training, and evaluations of all bartenders, cocktail servers, and barbacks.
  • Complete bars schedules, time off requests, and bars payroll.
  • Work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Must be able to communicate, read and write in English fluently and in a professional manner. Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced work environment. Must be able to exhibit strong motivational and developmental skills. Must be POS savvy and be able to work at any given shift at any time. Must be able to lift 45 lbs. Must be at least 21 years old with a valid Nevada Health and TAM cards. Extended periods of standing and walking, circulating through the operations required. Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to secondhand smoke and high noise levels.
