What's the role?

As the Senior Product Design Manager for Buyer Web, you will lead the design strategy and execution for Etsy's desktop and mobile web experiences. This team crafts how buyers discover, evaluate, and purchase unique items every day - making the shopping journey intuitive, cohesive, and high-performing across platforms.

You'll guide a team responsible for delivering a consistent, "One Etsy" buyer experience while navigating platform-specific constraints, evolving web architecture, and responsive design systems. This role requires expertise in web UX, systems thinking, and the ability to bring clarity to sophisticated and ambiguous problem spaces as we continue refining Etsy's core shopping journey.

This is a highly collaborative leadership role reporting into Buyer Design leadership and partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Brand, and Design Systems.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Design, Growth. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and ourcompetitive benefitsthat support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

  • Lead with Strategy- Define and drive initiative-level design strategies across desktop and mobile web, anticipating platform tradeoffs, technical constraints, and performance considerations while ensuring cohesive buyer experiences.

  • Bring Clarity to Complexity- Navigate evolving architecture, responsive systems, and shifting priorities. Frame ambiguous problem spaces into clear opportunities grounded in user insights and business goals.

  • Grow and Support Your Team- Coach designers through complex initiatives and platform migrations. Develop a high-trust, inclusive environment with clear expectations around quality, accessibility, craft excellence, and performance-oriented design.

  • Champion Craft & Systems Thinking- Partner with Brand and Design Systems to ensure web components are accessible, performant, and scalable across the buyer lifecycle. Drive consistency while enabling innovation.

  • Collaborate Strategically- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Research leadership to translate technical considerations into actionable design direction and long-term roadmap alignment.

  • Drive Measurable Impact- Use qualitative and quantitative insights to improve buyer confidence, conversion, engagement, and overall marketplace performance.
