Mobile Tasker information

What is a mobile tasker?

Mobile Taskers are individuals who complete various tasks, errands, or small jobs for clients using a mobile app or platform. They are often independent contractors who can help with services such as delivery, cleaning, furniture assembly, or running errands. Mobile Taskers are typically matched with clients based on location and availability, providing flexibility for both the worker and the customer. This job is popular for those seeking flexible hours and diverse work opportunities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a mobile tasker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Mobile Tasker, you need reliability, strong problem-solving skills, and basic proficiency in a variety of household or delivery tasks, often supported by a valid driver’s license or relevant experience. Familiarity with mobile tasking platforms and navigation apps is important, as well as the ability to use smartphones to manage tasks and communicate with clients. Excellent time management, customer service, and adaptability help Mobile Taskers stand out when interacting with diverse clients and handling changing requests. These skills and qualities ensure efficient, high-quality service, build client trust, and enable success in a fast-paced gig economy environment.

What are some common challenges faced by mobile taskers, and how can they be managed effectively?

Mobile Taskers often juggle multiple assignments in different locations, which can make time management and route planning challenging. To manage this effectively, it's important to use scheduling and navigation apps to optimize your day and minimize travel time. Additionally, clear communication with clients and flexibility to adapt to last-minute changes can help ensure tasks are completed efficiently. Staying organized and maintaining a reliable mode of transportation are also crucial for success in this role.

Job description

First Due is hiring a remote candidate for Mobile Application Engineering Manager. This is a full time position. Work location: USA. The role typically involves technologies such as React, CI/CD, Kotlin, Swift, .NET, REST.

About First Due First Due’s mission is to prevent first responder injury or death by providing fire and EMS agencies with transformative, end-to-end software solutions that empower them to run safer, smarter, and more effective operations.

Job Title:

Mobile Application Engineering Manager

Location : Remote - US Only

Country : United States

Department : Engineering

Position Type : Full-Time

Salary : $200,000

Key Responsibilities:

10+ years of hands‑on experience in native iOS application development using Swift, including 3+ years in a formal engineering management or technical lead role directly managing mobile engineers.

Exposure to Android development (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, or Android architecture components) is needed, especially for guiding a mixed iOS/Android team or evaluating cross‑platform trade-offs.

Proven experience leading teams that build mission‑critical, offline‑first mobile applications.

Ability to partner with Product/PM to translate customer requirements into a roadmap, then drive the team to deliver against it.

Experience using tools like Instabug/Firebase to triage production issues, guide root‑cause investigation, and coach engineers through customer‑impacting bugs.

Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture — enough to review designs, set technical direction, and unblock the team, even if not writing production code daily.

Working knowledge of RESTful API integration, data synchronization, and secure authentication mechanisms, sufficient to guide architectural trade-offs and review technical designs.

Working knowledge of WebViews and ability to use it efficiently.

Strong grounding in debugging, performance optimization, and memory management — enough to mentor engineers through hard problems and make sound trade‑off calls.

Demonstrated experience leading mobile development initiatives, establishing engineering best practices, hiring, and growing a team — required for this role.

Experience with performance management, 1:1s, career development planning, and cross‑functional stakeholder communication.

Experience with hybrid/cross‑platform mobile frameworks — such as Flutter, React Native, or Ionic/Capacitor — is needed and useful for evaluating build‑vs‑buy and native‑vs‑hybrid strategy decisions.
