Job description

We're seeking a Equipment Operator who's ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter - and build a career with a company that's building North America. 

Job Title: Equipment Operator   |   Req ID: 16925   |   HR Contact: Katherine Therese HENNESSY   |   Location: Canon City Agg/Asp CO, Longmont East CO

ABOUT THE ROLE  

All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed and individual works as a team member. Drivers & Operators are given primary responsibility of performing all plant tasks that require the use of heavy mobile equipment. The associated equipment of the limestone quarry and the plant equipment are also considered equipment to be operated through mobile operators. Responsible for the operation of plant processing equipment at a sand and gravel or quarry production operation.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Using a computer or manual controls, effectively operates primary or secondary crushing or other plant equipment in order to meet site production needs.
  • Communicates with load and unload areas, hauls materials safely to designated areas and maintains safe speed and observes all plant traffic controls.
  • Performs walk-around pre-trip safety inspections. Identifies any safety problems or concerns and report any unsafe conditions to Supervisor including near misses and any other areas where safety can be improved.
  • Performs maintenance activities to ensure haul truck is maintained to the required standard and assist with other plant maintenance activities as required including site housekeeping or clean up activities.   
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.                                  

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR       

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Required: Prior experience operating haulage trucks or heavy equipment. 1-3 years experience
  • Required: Valid Drivers License

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
