Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Maintain an autonomous nursing practice focused on the promotion, protection and restoration of employees' health utilizing the standard AAOHN domains of occupational health nursing within the context of a safe and healthy manufacturing and non manufacturing environment as well as following the nursing practice standards of the State of Michigan

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Work Experience 12 months of accumulated experience within the last 5 years; new graduate; in lieu of 12 months of accumulated experience, a new graduate will be eligible for employment after completion of 1200 verified hours of employment within the last 12 months or the standard practice within the RN community.

REQUIRED:

  • RN diploma/degree from accredited School of Nursing

  • Valid RN license in the appropriate state

  • Current BCLS certification.

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

  • ABOHN certification COHN, COHN-S, COHN-S/CM, etc.

  • CAOHC Audiometric certification

  • Respiratory Fit certification

  • Breath Alcohol certification (BAT)

  • Continuing Education Credits

  • Experience in occupational healthcare.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • High level of initiative and sound independent nursing judgment

  • Analytical ability; problems may be complex

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills

  • Basic knowledge/comfort of computer systems (e.g., Windows, MS Word & Office);

  • Completion of core competencies in OHN Services.

  • Preferred: Experience in occupational healthcare
