Job description

Regions is seeking an experienced RN or Paramedic to join our MRCC (Medical Resource Control Center) in a part time (.7 Evenings), benefit eligible position.   

The access center RN will be the initial contact for all HealthPartners Direct (HPD) admissions, transfers, and consultations, coordinating provider-provider hand-offs. Access center RN's will interact frequently with HealthPartners providers from clinics and hospitals as well as providers from external organizations seeking services for admission, ED-ED transfer, or specialty consultation.  The RNs at HealthPartners Direct access center are responsible for triage of all HPD patients to ensure a proper physician connection and partnering with the Medical Resource Control Center (MRCC) staff as the initial point of contact for critical admissions such as Cath Lab Activations or Acute Stroke admissions.

The Paramedic will be the initial contact for all Medical Resource Control Center (MRCC) calls from ambulance services within the metro area, greater Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. The paramedic will use multiple communication tools to communicate with different medical agencies and will provide quality assurance for the Regions Hospital EMS program, identifying areas for quality improvement. As a paramedic for MRCC, you will be the initial point of contact for critical admissions such as Cath Lab activations, Trauma Team Activations and Acute Stroke admissions. MRCC staff will have a vital role in the management of a Multiple Casualty Incidents and gathering information needing to be passed on to participating agencies.    

Work Schedule:

0.7 3p-1130p every other weekend

Paramedic Required Qualifications:

  • Two years as a paramedic responding to 911 calls required.   

Paramedic Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of accredited Paramedic program preferred.
  • Five years as a paramedic responding to 911 calls is preferred. Previous EMS communications experience or EMS teaching experience preferred. Current employment with an East Metro Advanced Life Support ambulance services desired.
  • Current State of MN certification as a paramedic
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification

RN Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing 
  • 2-5 years of recent clinical experience as an RN in a hospital setting or new grad RN with recent 2+ years as a paramedic responding to 911 calls
  • Current RN licensure in State of Minnesota 
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.

RN Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's in related field. 
  • 5 years of recent clinical experience as an RN in hospital setting; Charge nurse experience preferred. 
  • 2-5 years recent patient placement experience
