Job description

Mobile Equipment Mechanic, Perry, Georgia
Interfor is seeking a skilled, safety-minded, and motivated Mobile Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Perry, Georgia. The successful candidatewill be responsible for maintaining all mobile and rolling stock equipmentthroughout the mill to support safe and efficient production operations. The pay range for this position is $23.17 per hour up to $29.35 per hour depending on skill level and experience.
What You'll Do
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on all mobile and rolling stock equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation, including scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Complete work orders accurately, documenting all work performed, parts used, and time spent.
  • Inspect tires, fluid levels, belts, and related components, replacing or repairing as needed.
  • Requisition and replacement of parts accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Plan and manage daily work effectively, demonstrating the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Contain and clean spills using Oil Dry, ensuring leaks are addressed promptly and safely.
  • Communicate equipment status and repair needs to the Supervisor and Superintendent.
  • Audit daily pre-shift inspection sheets completed by equipment operators.
  • Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders and maintenance activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor to support continuous mill operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work areas after each task.

What You Offer
  • 2 or more years of mobile equipment mechanic experience.
  • Basic electrical aptitude.
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent Preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing/warehouse/lumber operations experience preferred.
  • Ability and desire to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, climbing, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
