Mind, Body, & Soul Counseling is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor. In this full-time remote position, you will play a pivotal role in our Hospice Center, providing therapeutic interventions and support to patients facing mental health challenges as they navigate their end-of-life care. Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments for patients in a hospice setting to identify their psychological and emotional needs.
  • Developing personalized treatment plans that align with patients' goals, addressing anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues associated with terminal conditions.
  • Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), to help patients cope with their mental health challenges.
  • Facilitating individual and family counseling sessions to foster open communication and emotional resilience during end-of-life care.
  • Offering crisis intervention as needed to support patients and families in moments of heightened distress.
  • Collaborating with medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to create a comprehensive care plan that addresses both physical and mental health needs.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participating in regular team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus on a diverse range of patient needs, particularly those in hospice care who may be grappling with complex emotional and psychological challenges. This includes supporting patients diagnosed with terminal illnesses, their families, and caregivers as they navigate the emotional landscape of end-of-life decisions, grief, and acceptance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A valid and current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is required; advanced degrees such as a Masterโ€™s or Doctorate are preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a mental health counseling setting, ideally with experience in hospice or palliative care.
  • A thorough understanding of mental health disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed care principles.
Preferred Experience
