Travel Mammography Technologist for a temporary mobile screening assignment in Illinois.
This assignment is expected to run for approximately
13 weeks, supporting mobile screening services across
Springfield, Champaign-Urbana, and the Chicago Metro area. The schedule is expected to be
Monday-Friday, day shift, approximately
40 hours per week, with no routine weekends or on-call currently expected.
Candidates may be considered for the full assignment or for partial location coverage based on availability, credentials, and assignment needs.
Pay Package- Estimated weekly pay: $3,045-3,125/week.
- Base pay: $68.00-70.00/hour, W-2, non-exempt.
- Meal/incidental per diem: $65.00 per eligible day, estimated at $325/week based on 5 eligible travel/work days.
- Lodging: Provided for eligible travel under VitalCheck's written travel and expense policy.
- Mileage reimbursement: Provided for authorized business travel under VitalCheck's written travel and expense policy.
- Overtime: Paid as required by applicable federal, Illinois, and local law.
- Completion Bonus: Eligible candidates may receive a $1,500-$2,000 completion bonus for completing the agreed assignment. Bonus eligibility, amount, timing, and payment are subject to written company policy and the final assignment terms.
Final travel support may vary based on assignment schedule, location, eligibility, actual travel needs, and VitalCheck's written travel and expense policy.
Assignment LocationsThis role will support mobile screening sites across Illinois, subject to final scheduling and assignment needs.
Candidates may be considered for the full assignment or partial coverage in one or more of the following areas:
Anticipated assignment schedule:Weeks 1-7: Springfield, IL
Weeks 8-11: Springfield / Sangamon County
Week 12: Champaign-Urbana
Week 13: Chicago Metro / Cook County
Responsibilities- Perform screening mammograms in accordance with MQSA standards, Illinois requirements, facility/mobile-unit protocols, and radiation safety standards.
- Complete daily mammography quality control according to facility protocol.
- Review images for technical quality and positioning before submission.
- Transmit studies securely and maintain accurate documentation.
- Support onsite screening workflow, including patient check-in, documentation, schedule flow, and daily operational communication.
- Provide a professional, patient-centered experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical workspace.
This role does not include diagnosis, image interpretation, prescribing, determining medical necessity, or directing physician/radiologist clinical judgment.
Requirements- Active ARRT RT(R)(M) certification.
- Active Status Accreditation from IEMA-OHS in Medical Radiation Technology, Medical Radiography category.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum 2 years of screening mammography experience.
- Documented 3D/tomosynthesis experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a mobile setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to support patient-facing coordination duties as needed.
- Ability to provide required MQSA documentation before the start date.
