Job description

Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager plays a critical role in the company's order fulfillment process by leading quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution center. This role is responsible for managing the QA team, enforcing quality standards, and ensuring consistent execution across operations.
The position focuses on identifying process gaps, reducing defects, and driving corrective actions while partnering closely with Operations. The Quality Assurance Manager also owns audit processes, document control, and quality metrics, ensuring alignment with product specifications and operational requirements.
Supervisory responsibilities
  • This position will directly supervise the Quality Assurance team, including specialists and team members.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Lead and execute process audits to ensure compliance with operational and quality standards
  • Own audit planning, scheduling, execution, and follow-up on findings
  • Enforce quality standards across all warehouse operations, with authority to escalate issues or stop processes when necessary
  • Investigate non-conforming products, damages, and process failures using root cause analysis
  • Develop and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with clear ownership and follow-through
  • Ensure workflows, processes, and products meet established quality and operational standards
  • Partner with Operations to implement process controls and improvements
  • Own and manage document control, including SOPs, work instructions, and quality documentation
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, current, and implemented prior to operational changes
  • Track and analyze quality metrics, audit results, and trends to identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop and maintain incoming quality processes to ensure products meet specifications upon receipt
  • Collaborate with Procurement to support supplier quality standards
  • Provide input and quality oversight during process changes, launches, and operational initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required skills/abilities
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
  • Ability to enforce standards and hold teams accountable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive root cause solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to partner effectively with Operations, Safety, HR, and other departments
  • Experience developing and executing process audits and quality systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings or late hours as needed

education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Operations, or distribution environments
  • Proven experience managing a QA team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong experience with root cause analysis, audits, and corrective actions
  • Experience with supplier or incoming quality systems preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement experience preferred
