Job Summary
The Mammography Technologist at Prevea Health performs diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance to the Radiologist protocols. This role is mainly responsible for conducting mammograms while also supporting general x-ray.
What you will do
  • Performs mammography and general imaging that may include specialty such as Orthopedics.
  • Position imaging equipment and adjust techniques as appropriate to patient body habitus
  • Record, process, and maintain patient data within the electronic medical record and PACs System.
  • Completes all image processing procedures and QC testing. Follows Radiologist protocols to ensure images are of diagnostic quality.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devises to comply with government regulations to ensure the safety of patients and staff
  • Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns
  • Perform phlebotomy and basic lab testing as ordered by providers
  • Potential to rotate on mobile mammography unit.

Education Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited or approved program in Radiological Technology Required

Experience Qualifications
  • 1-3 years Current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology preferably mammography. Clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year current clinical experience. Preferred

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and positioning to sufficiently image the area/areas of interest.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level.
  • Possess skills to effectively problem solve.
  • Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone and office equipment.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification Upon Hire Required
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Mammography Certification or is eligible based on standards of actively training towards this certification within 1 Year Required
  • Radiographer License issued by the state of WI Upon Hire Required
  • CPR/BLS Certification - Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from an approved program. Upon Hire Required
