Summary
You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR in the EXPEDITIONARY MAINTENANCE DEPOT - SOUTHWEST of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.

Help
  • You will assist in the establishment of master schedules of inspections for equipment and non-equipment items, to include the estimation of man-hour workloads for inspectors and support personnel required for equipment disassembly and operation.
  • You will perform safety and condition inspections for heavy mobile equipment vehicles, towed units, forklifts and other heavy construction equipment.
  • You will be responsible for the timely and proficient execution of all inspection branch functions which include all local inspection functions related to transportation, construction, and allied equipment and non-equipment items.
  • You will ensure personnel have required documents to conduct inspection and operational tests, including contracts, specifications, operator's manual, Technical Orders, Technical Manuals, classification of defect list, and work order authorizations.
  • You will be responsible for the quality control and assurance of agreed maintenance processes and completion of work ensuring that each Inspector conducts a thorough physical inspection in accordance with customer work requests.
  • You will perform various duties of first-line administrative supervision for the Inspection Branch.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

1) Collaborating with customers and ensuring the maintenance and repair program meets customer needs;
2) Ensuring tasks are issued according to shop codes and for specific Tradesmen labor codes;
3) Reading and interpreting drawings, diagrams, mechanical specifications, stock catalogs, manufacturers' catalogs, and similar publications;
4) Guiding and assisting subordinates in procedures for test and inspection of unfamiliar equipment.
