Job description

The VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS), in partnership with the University of Washington Department of Medicine, Department of Dermatology, is seeking a dedicated, full-time Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Dermatologist to provide exceptional care for our nation’s Veterans—America’s heroes.

Position Highlights:

  • Academic Appointment: Successful candidates will hold a full-time faculty appointment at the University of Washington at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive Dermatology Services: Deliver both outpatient and inpatient care, including phototherapy, patch testing, specialized and general dermatologic surgery, general dermatology, and tele-dermatology.
  • Collaborative Practice: Work closely with primary care providers and contribute to clinical education and training when needed.
  • Innovative Care Delivery: Participate in electronic consultations (e-Consults), and Specialty Care Access Network-Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (SCAN-ECHO) to expand dermatology access and advance specialty education.
  • Modern Facilities: Serve at a Joint Commission-accredited, high-complexity (Level 1b) referral center with 459 beds, supporting thousands of Veterans in the Pacific Northwest.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday. Some evening or weekend coverage may be required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen (non-U.S. citizens may be considered)
  • Possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
  • Board Certification in Dermatology preferred; Board Eligibility considered
