Job description

GRID Networks is seeking a Chief Mobile Technology Officer to lead our mobile team. This role owns the mobile network end to end — architecture, vendor strategy, deployment, and daily operations. You'll lead a distributed engineering and operations team and be the technical authority on signaling, voice, SMS, data services, international roaming, commercial operator agreements, and general mobile industry topics. You will lead across the full lifecycle of mobile related products and services from early architecture through production.

What You’ll Do
  • Architecture & Strategy — Set the roadmap for network capability, vendor selection, and evolution of core network functions.
  • Infrastructure — Oversee core network, data centers, virtualized infrastructure, IPX services – all the infrastructure that makes the mobile network operate.
  • Operations — Own network operations and engineering end to end — performance optimization, capacity planning, trouble resolution, maintenance, and QoS/KPI tracking.
  • Roaming and Services — Set roaming strategy and manage international agreements, including IREG/TADIG testing, interconnect agreements, and mobile oriented commercial agreements such as IMSI and MSISDN leasing, SMS and voice service providers.
  • Vendor Relationships — Negotiate contracts / manage delivery with major telecom equipment vendors.
  • Team Leadership — Lead a distributed engineering and operations team; align domestic and international groups on priorities and execution.
  • Innovation — Track emerging technologies that could improve network performance or reduce operating cost.
What You’ll Bring
  • 10+ years in telecommunications, with hands‑on ownership of mobile network technologies.
  • 5+ years leading engineering teams spanning both operations and engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of mobile technology and services across generations (2G–5G and beyond).
  • Fluency in mobile related signaling protocols including SS7/MAP and Diameter signaling.
  • Expert knowledge of ITU‑T and 3GPP specifications and GSMA recommendations.
  • Detailed knowledge of mobile data services, SMS, SMS hubs, and voice network concepts.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Strategic thinker, clear communicator, and a collaborative leader and mentor.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and externally with customers and partners.
