Job description

Point of Care Laboratory Technician (LVN/MLT/CLS) – Evenings

Location: San Leandro, CA
Pay Rate: $26–$32/hr. (Based on experience) + Benefits
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Mobile Laboratory Services


We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Point of Care Laboratory Technician to join a nationwide leader in mobile diagnostic and laboratory services. This position supports STAT and point-of-care laboratory testing in a mobile healthcare environment serving post-acute care facilities.

This role is ideal for candidates with laboratory experience who thrive in a fast-paced setting and are comfortable working independently while maintaining high standards of patient care and specimen integrity.

⚠️ Important: Candidate must report to and return the mobile lab van

Responsibilities

  • Perform waived laboratory testing in a mobile or remote setting
  • Conduct point-of-care testing including:
    • Chemistry
    • Hematology
    • Urinalysis
    • Molecular Testing
    • Coagulation
  • Enter patient demographics and test orders into laboratory systems
  • Process and log specimens accurately
  • Monitor quality control procedures and document results
  • Confirm abnormal results and escalate rare/improbable findings appropriately
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection when needed
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and computer-related issues
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory safety and state regulations
  • Operate delivery/mobile laboratory van when applicable


Requirements

  • MUST be one of the following:
    • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
    • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
    • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
  • California licensure required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record required
  • Familiarity with laboratory workflow and testing procedures required
  • Previous phlebotomy experience preferred
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (or approved exemption documentation)

Please Note: Phlebotomist-only candidates will NOT be considered.
