JOB SUMMARY:
The Social Media Producer is a basketball-obsessed, mobile-native creative that aims to elevate our brand across the Utah Jazz social channels. This person must be a fast-paced storyteller, an experienced copywriter, original short-form video creator, and capable of executing a content strategy across all channels. The producer will bring a sense of urgency to each project with a collaborative and competitive mindset as we look to meet the needs of the NBA's global audience. This role is helping us drive the conversation around the Utah Jazz, speaking authentically to our fans and reflecting our Mountain Basketball ethos in the content we create. Each candidate must provide a portfolio for review.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Daily publishing across X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Facebook, and emerging digital channels using enterprise social management tools.
  • Capture, edit, and publish high-energy, real-time content during home and away games, practices, community events, and off-court player appearances.
  • Write sharp, platform-tailored copy that reflects the Utah Jazz brand voice, balancing fan entertainment with organizational messaging.
  • Monitor channel analytics and audience sentiment to optimize post timing, format, and content hooks.
  • Work closely with team photographers, video producers and graphic designers to execute cohesive multi-channel content campaigns.
  • Identify emerging platform features, audio trends, memes, and cultural moments, rapidly adapting them to fit the Utah Jazz brand voice.
  • Ideate, shoot and edit vertical video content daily with a focus on showcasing player personalities
  • Working with the Senior Director of Content and Social Media Manager, assist in the planning and maintenance of the social media content calendar.
  • Partner with Marketing, Partnerships, Ticketing, and Community Relations to seamlessly integrate partner deliverables and promotional initiatives without sacrificing content authenticity.
  • Working alongside members from other departments (ie retail, youth basketball, game presentation, etc.), assisting with the management of secondary accounts associated with the Jazz brand and upholding brand standards.
  • Attend all Jazz home games and team events, with the potential to travel for away games and/or related events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A strong portfolio of previous video work is mandatory. 2-4 years working experience in sports preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Creative Media, Communications, Marketing, similar programs or demonstrated experience.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with strict attention to grammar, tone, and brand compliance.
  • Strong photo and video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Slate, Photoshop, or other mobile editing suites under tight deadlines.
  • Deep, intuitive understanding of platform algorithms, native editing tools, and distribution tactics across TikTok, IG Reels, X, YouTube Shorts, and Threads.
  • Must have a sound understanding of the NBA and Utah Jazz, in addition to a strong grasp of trends across sports.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to shoot video and photo with a cell phone and/or full-frame digital camera.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
