Job Summary The Principal Engineer, VaiDA Mobile Experience will help bring Vertex's AI experience tool, VaiDA, to life through intuitive, high-quality mobile experiences that make AI accessible wherever work happens. This role will design and develop secure, performant, and user-friendly mobile capabilities that connect seamlessly to Vertex's AI and agentic platform, while also supporting existing mobile applications across Vertex. The ideal candidate combines strong mobile engineering expertise with a sharp eye for usability, polish, and responsiveness, and can translate complex AI-driven functionality into clear, elegant mobile interactions. This person will play a key role in making VaiDA a trusted and valuable everyday companion for Vertex employees. Work Model: Hybrid or On-site

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, test, and maintain high-quality mobile applications and features for the VaiDA experience
  • Own the technical direction and architecture for VaiDA mobile experiences
  • Translate AI-driven capabilities into clear mobile workflows that are easy to use and understand
  • Integrate mobile applications with Vertex's AI and agentic platform, APIs, and enterprise systems
  • Ensure mobile solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and optimized for performance
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, AI engineers, backend developers, and platform teams to deliver seamless end-to-end experiences
  • Champion mobile usability, accessibility, and design best practices across the VaiDA experience
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues to improve application stability and user satisfaction
  • Define and uphold code quality, testing standards, and release processes for mobile applications
  • Continuously evaluate new mobile technologies, frameworks, and development practices to improve product quality and delivery speed
  • Support the ongoing enhancement of VaiDA as a trusted daily tool for employees across the organization
  • Support the operational management of additional Vertex mobile applications, including certificate signing, provisioning, and developer account administration
  • Coordinate mobile application deployments and updates through enterprise distribution platforms, including Microsoft Intune, and ensure apps remain compliant with certificate and release requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience developing and delivering mobile applications in a professional environment
  • Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, and development best practices
  • Experience building secure, performant, and responsive mobile features
  • Ability to create intuitive and user-friendly experiences with strong attention to detail and design quality
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with backend services, APIs, and enterprise platforms
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment

Pay Range: $166,640 - $250,000

Disclosure Statement: The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
