NOCD is the #1 telehealth provider for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). OCD is one of the most severe, prevalent, and misunderstood mental health conditions.NOCD creates access to online therapy for people with OCD through our telehealth platform. In the NOCD app, Members can quickly access and schedule live, face-to-face video therapy sessions with our national network of licensed Therapists that specialize in Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) - considered the \"gold standard\" in OCD treatment.
At NOCD, we help people reclaim their lives with clinically proven OCD treatment, by removing barriers to OCD care, and reducing the stigma associated with OCD. We're changing the world and need other like-minded individuals to accelerate and expand our efforts.

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid 3X a week)

Opportunity Overview

NOCD is seeking an experienced Senior iOS Engineer to help scale our mobile platform and expand access to effective OCD treatment.

You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, Design, and Clinical teams to build high-quality mobile experiences that directly support patients and therapists. While iOS will be your primary focus, you'll also contribute across the stack—working with Python, TypeScript, and AWS to build and support the services powering our mobile experiences.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems across the stack, and wants to help shape both our mobile architecture and broader engineering foundation as NOCD grows.

What You'll Work On
  • Build and improve patient-facing iOS experiences used during ERP therapy.
  • Develop clinician tools and in-session features that support high-quality care.
  • Build and optimize real-time video and communication experiences.
  • Contribute to backend services and APIs using Python and TypeScript .
  • Work with AWS services to support mobile applications and backend infrastructure.
  • Improve app performance, reliability, architecture, and long-term maintainability.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Clinical teams to solve meaningful user problems.
  • Help establish mobile and full-stack engineering practices, patterns, and code quality as the team grows.
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of professional iOS development experience
  • Proven experience shipping and maintaining production iOS applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Swift and deep hands-on experience with SwiftUI .
  • Experience with modern concurrency patterns including async/await and Combine .
  • Strong understanding of mobile architecture, performance, testing, and release practices.
  • Professional experience with backend development using Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience building or consuming REST APIs and working across the frontend/backend boundary.
  • Working experience with AWS and cloud-based application architecture.
  • Ability to work independently and take features from concept through production.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in healthcare, digital health, or building HIPAA-compliant features.
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, or similar.
  • Experience with microservices or event-driven architectures.
  • Experience working at a startup or small, highly collaborative engineering organization.
  • Objective-C experience.
  • Experience contributing to CI/CD, developer tooling, or infrastructure
