Job Title: Senior Java & Angular Full Stack Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Contract Duration - 6 Months
Pay Rate: $86/hr

Role Overview
An opportunity is available for a UI Java and Angular Engineer to join a high-performing Enterprise Platform Mobile/Web Technology organization. This role focuses on building and scaling backend services, APIs, and cloud-native applications that support customer interactions. The ideal candidate combines backend engineering expertise with an understanding of how modern web and mobile applications consume and interact with distributed services. As a technical leader, you will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and help deliver scalable, resilient, and performant solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of backend applications, APIs, and microservices supporting customer-facing web and mobile platforms.
  • Build scalable cloud-native solutions utilizing Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, AWS, and modern engineering practices.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Front-End Engineers, Mobile Developers, UX teams, and other engineering organizations to deliver new features and platform enhancements.
  • Drive architecture and technical design discussions focused on scalability, resiliency, security, and performance.
  • Implement event-driven solutions leveraging Kafka and distributed system design principles.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support rapid and reliable software delivery.
  • Support modernization initiatives and adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tools and LLM capabilities.
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and establish engineering best practices across teams.
  • Analyze and resolve complex production issues affecting customer-facing systems.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Java development experience.
  • Experience building REST APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Experience working within AWS cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale customer-facing applications.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and application design patterns.
  • Experience with Angular and React.
  • Ability to lead technical design, development, and implementation efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting web and/or mobile application teams (React, Angular, iOS, or Android).
  • Experience designing APIs consumed by React, Angular, iOS, or Android applications.
  • Experience working with large-scale distributed architectures.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, and application performance tuning.
  • Experience using Generative AI tools such as Claude Code.
  • Experience building AI-enhanced user experiences or leveraging LLM capabilities.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams.
  • Agile development experience.
