A Mobile Copywriter is a professional who specializes in creating written content specifically designed for mobile platforms, such as smartphones and tablets. Their work includes crafting engaging copy for mobile apps, mobile websites, SMS campaigns, push notifications, and social media. The goal is to write concise, clear, and compelling messages that are easily readable on smaller screens and prompt user action. Mobile copywriters need to understand user behavior on mobile devices and adapt their writing style for brevity and impact. They often collaborate with designers and developers to ensure the content fits seamlessly within the mobile user experience.

How does a mobile copywriter typically collaborate with UX/UI designers during app development?

Mobile Copywriters work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure that written content seamlessly integrates with visual elements and user flows. This collaboration often involves participating in design sprints, providing feedback on wireframes, and suggesting microcopy that enhances user experience. By working together from the initial concept phase through to final implementation, both roles help create intuitive, engaging, and accessible mobile interfaces. Open communication and iterative feedback are key to aligning copy with design goals and user needs.

These skills ensure content is effective, user-friendly, and optimized for the unique constraints and opportunities of mobile devices.

Job description

Join the Tilt team
At Tilt, we see a side of people that traditional lenders miss. Our mobile-first products and machine learning-powered credit models look beyond credit scores, using over 250 real-time financial signals to recognize real potential. With millions of customers worldwide, we're not just changing how people access financial products - we're creating a new credit system that backs the working, whatever they're working toward.
The opportunity: Senior Copywriter, Brand
This role is for a writer with a genuinely distinctive voice - someone who captures the spirit of a brand so naturally it feels like they've always been the one talking. You'll be the creative authority behind how Tilt speaks: writing brand and campaign copy across every surface, building long-form narratives that move people, and setting the standard for what great writing looks like in everything we make. You'll sit within the Creative team (part of Marketing), working closely with designers, marketers, and product partners to define, protect, and expand how Tilt shows up in language. The brand foundation is in place. Now we need the writer who makes it come alive at scale.
How you'll make an impact
  • Own Tilt's voice: Be the primary steward of how we sound - sharpening our voice, setting a high bar for craft, and ensuring everything we write sounds clear, human, and unmistakably Tilt.
  • Write work that defines us: Create brand copy that's clever without being try-hard, warm without being generic, and plain-spoken without being dull. You find the phrase other writers miss, and you make it look easy.
  • Concept to campaign: Generate the big idea and know how to blow it out - from the central creative platform to the headlines, scripts, and executional details that make a campaign feel whole and inevitable.
  • Tell the long story: Lead long-form narrative projects - across touch points, campaign narratives, scripts - that build trust, clarity, and emotional connection with our audience.
  • Drive growth through language: Write direct response copy for ads, email, and performance channels that converts without sounding like it's trying to. Plain speak. Everyday language. Real results.
  • Build the system: Use your craft expertise to design and refine AI-assisted copy workflows - writing prompts, style guides, and frameworks that help to stay on-brand while producing great work at scale.
  • Collaborate across the creative org: Work hand-in-hand with designers on campaign concepting and brand development to ensure writing and design move together, not in parallel.
  • Shape creative practice: As a senior voice on a growing team, you'll have real influence over how we develop creative standards, review work, and push the bar higher.
  • Make financial language feel human: Help people feel seen, respected, and confident through clear, emotionally intelligent writing that builds trust in moments that matter.
Why you're a great fit
  • A voice that's all your own: You've developed a genuine creative point of view over the course of your career. Your writing has a quality that's hard to pin down but impossible to miss - distinctive, alive, never overwrought.
  • Conceptual mind: You have campaign ideas for days. You think strategically, generate strong creative platforms, and know how to take a central concept and blow it out across channels and formats without losing what made it good.
  • Brand experience at depth: You've worked on brand identity or rebrand projects and understand what it means to capture a company's spirit in language and hold it consistently across every touchpoint.
  • Long-form narrative range: You can write a 12-word tagline and a 1,200-word brand story with equal confidence, and you know when each is right.
  • Performance copy fluency: You understand how to write for DR channels - the rhythms, the clarity requirements, the accountability to outcomes - without sacrificing voice.
  • Systems thinker: You see patterns in your craft. You can document what makes writing work and build frameworks that help others write better, including AI-assisted tools.
  • Deep collaborator: You thrive in creative feedback loops, take critique as fuel, and are as invested in the team's work as your own.
  • Clear presenter: You can walk a room through a creative rationale and make people feel the rightness of a choice, not just understand it.
  • Agency and/or in-house experience: You know how creative work actually ships, and you've navigated real-world timelines, stakeholders, and constraints without compromising on quality.

Don't meet every qualification? We care about potential over your past. If you're bringing ambition and drive to what we're building, we want to hear from you.
What you'll get at Tilt
  • Virtual-first teamwork: The Tilt team is collaborating across 14 countries, 12 time zones, and counting. You'll get started with a WFH office reimbursement.
  • Competitive pay: We're big on potential, and it's reflected in our competitive compensation packages and generous equity.
  • Complete support: Find flexible health plans at every premium level, and substantial subsidies that stand up to global standards.
  • Visibility is yours: You can count on direct exposure to our leadership team - we're a team where good ideas travel quickly.
  • Paid global onsites: Magic happens IRL: we gather twice yearly to reconnect over shared meals or kayaking adventures. (We've visited Vail, San Diego, and Mexico City, to name a few.)
  • Impact is recognized: Growth opportunities follow your contributions, not rigid promotion timelines.
The Tilt Way
We're looking for people who chase excellence and impact. Those who stand behind their work, celebrating the wins and learning from the missteps equally. We foster an environment where every voice is valued and mutual respect is non-negotiable - brilliant jerks need not apply. We're in this together, working to expand access to fair credit and prove that people are incredible. When you join us, it's not just another day at the [virtual] office, you're helping millions of hardworking people reach better financial futures.
You're pushing ahead in your career? We can get behind that. Join us in building the credit system that people deserve.
