Job description

Business Intelligence Tableau Developer
Summary
Our client is migrating a set of legacy HTML reports to business-partner-maintained BI solutions built primarily in Tableau and ThoughtSpot with data sourced from their Snowflake-based enterprise data platform (moving off Oracle).  We are looking for a BI/Tableau Developer to lead the design, build, and publishing of these new solutions while partnering closely with business stakeholders to translate existing reporting into modern dashboards.
Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements for dashboards, reporting needs, and visualizations.
  • Work alongside data engineers and SMEs to design and build curated Snowflake data sources that serve both BI applications and ad hoc query access.
  • Lead the design, development, and publishing of Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and other BI solutions; porting existing reports into the new platform.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate, streamline, or enhance reports during requirements gathering.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on BI development experience with data modeling and complex dashboard design, or a related degree.
  • Expert-level SQL across relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Hands-on Tableau experience; strong Power BI candidates with demonstrated quick uptake on new BI tools will also be considered.
  • Full project lifecycle experience: requirements gathering, data transformation, data modeling, dashboard development, user testing, and deployment.
  • Track record of success migrating or porting existing reports rather than building new ones from scratch.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to liaise across cross-functional teams.

Preferred

  • ThoughtSpot exposure.
  • Familiarity with financial, insurance, or compliance data and terminology.
  • Experience in regulated or process-heavy environments.
  • Experience with Python, Java, or R; Cloud Services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure); Agile methodologies.

This is a 9-Month Contract opportunity with our Kansas City, MO client.  Employee benefits include Medical/Dental Benefits, Paid time off, Paid Holidays, and 401(k) (with immediately-vested company match) available with TriCom during the contract period.  H1-B Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.  No third-parties, please.
