Job Description

Summary:

 As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in the Mobile Community of Excellence establishing testing best practices, evaluating functional and load testing tools and helping to standardize the mobile direction within the Company's IT. This position requires a well-rounded understanding of various testing disciplines, technology, test automation and hands on experience in the mobile space. The ideal candidate must have experience testing on multiple mobile platforms, devices, IDE's as well as web services and the ability to quickly learn and understand core systems. The ideal candidate will also be forward thinking, keeping abreast of new tools and practices for mobile application testing and work with the QA organization to integrate new practices into existing processes.  This role will be primarily manual testing, but you will be expected to learn the automation strategy and framework the team has already put in place.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and/or a minimum of 3 years of equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance
  • Must have demonstrated experience with mobile native application testing. (3 years of experience required)
  • Passion for defining and improving QA practices for mobile technologies
  • Ability to define and document best practices and standards
  • Experience with defect reporting and escalation procedures to Senior Management
  • Responsible for review and oversight of testing done by the on/off shore teams
  • Strong automation experience using Selenium web-driver (preferably mobile)
  • Must have delivered a functioning mobile application.
  • Strong communication skills required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Quality Tools (Quality Center, Perfecto Mobile, Jira, Rally... Etc.)
  • Experience with .NET, XML and JSON web services
  • Experience working on agile teams
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, DB2)
  • Knowledge of iOS and Android operating systems
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development principles and tools for mobile
  • Use of private app store or OTA distribution
  • Use git and GitHub to manage and share source code
