Requirements

Application Engineer - Thermal Management

This role will support the development of custom engine cooling systems potentially for both mobile and/or power generation applications. The Application Engineer will work on tailored thermal solutions, partnering with customers and internal teams to define requirements, support design, and validate performance across prototype and production programs.

You will make an impact and be successful in this role with the following skills and responsibilities:


Position Summary 

  • The Application Engineer serves as the technical interface between customers, sales, and internal engineering teams to deliver optimized HYDAC solutions. 
  • Drives customer success through technically sound, value-based solutions. 
  • Supports new business growth and existing account expansion. 
  • Operates within a standardized HYDAC AE framework across technologies and divisions.

Customer & Sales Enablement 

  • Lead technical discussions with customers and partners. 
  • Support quoting, proposals, and solution positioning. 
  • Build relationships with customer engineering teams. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor for long-term solution success. 
  • Travel 20-40% as required. 

Application Engineering & System Development 

  • Translate customer needs into system-level requirements. 
  • Select and optimize HYDAC products and systems. 
  • Ensure compliance with technical, quality, and commercial requirements. 
  • Support design reviews, DFMEA, and validation efforts. 
  • Expand capability across technologies and applications. 

Technical Expertise & Value Delivery 

  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations. 
  • Train customers, partners, and internal teams. 
  • Stay current on industry and technology trends. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Collaborate with sales, product, development, lab, and operations teams. 
  • Ensure solutions are manufacturable and scalable. 
  • Support global collaboration across HYDAC entities. 

Documentation & Process 

  • Document of customer interactions and technical solutions. 
  • Ensure traceability across the full lifecycle.
