Job description

Our Senior Software Application Developer is responsible for the development and support of our SAAS applications. The ideal candidate will have experience with REST, SOAP, SQL, and C#. The individual participates in all phases of the software implementation process including both package and custom development. Software development processes include requirements gathering and analysis, functional design, technical design, coding, testing, implementation, and post implementation support & maintenance. As a senior member of the team, this individual works with a high degree of autonomy, sets technical direction within their areas of ownership, and mentors other developers.


Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions in APEX, Visualforce, .NET, C#, SQL, and various API libraries
  • Integrate applications with our platform using SOAP and REST web services
  • Develop and maintain mobile applications using Capacitor, Ionic, Angular, and core web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Implement and maintain integrations, automations, and APIs aligned with architectural designs and standards defined by the Technology Director
  • Help define, document, and improve development standards
  • Follow CI/CD processes and code quality standards established by the Technology Director
  • Lead peer code reviews and drive continuous improvement of development standards
  • Mentor developers and provide technical guidance across the team
  • Provide architectural judgment on complex problems, including when to modernize versus deliberately contain legacy components
  • Ensure assigned technical tasks are being delivered on time and with quality
  • Provide production support and all related ancillary programs
  • Support the entire product development lifecycle including requirements gathering and analysis, functional design, technical design, coding, testing, implementation, CI/CD deployment, and post implementation support & maintenance
  • Analyze, design, and implement robust, maintainable solutions that meet the established business requirements utilizing creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Develop and maintain technical and project documentation
  • Develop unit tests and test plans to work with the QA team to establish quality test processes
  • Follow current development trends and provide recommendations for new development strategies and tools including conducting research on emerging AI technologies and methodologies to drive innovation within the organization. Experiment with new tools and frameworks to enhance AI capabilities
  • Make suggestions to management on current and emerging technologies, on methods to reduce costs, improve performance and availability, and reduce administration time
  • Other development duties which may be necessary to fulfill optimum efficiency of the position 

 Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering or related academic discipline required
  • 6+ years of experience building API-driven applications using C#, SQL, and RESTful services, with demonstrated senior-level ownership of complex systems
  • Experience operating with limited senior oversight, setting standards rather than only following them

Skills

  • Deep, demonstrated experience with RESTful services, SQL Server, C#, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and modern web frameworks. Experience with Ionic, Angular, and Capacitor strongly preferred. (Java, APEX, Visualforce, agile development, object-oriented design, distributed version control, and CI/CD practices a plus)
  • Strong secure-coding discipline appropriate to a regulated financial-services environment
  • Ability to mentor developers and raise overall code quality and consistency
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of constituents (Architecture, Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, Business Analysts, Other Development Teams, Business Customers)
  • Understanding of user interface design and user experience
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement maintainable, high-quality solutions to complex technical problems
  • Ability to critically evaluate existing and proposed solutions for scalability, performance, maintainability, and alignment with architectural standards and business goals
  • Ability to work effectively across interdisciplinary teams and clearly communicate priorities, expectations, risks, and trade-offs to stakeholders and leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a dynamic environment while maintaining delivery commitments and quality standards
  • Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture, API design principles, and modern application design patterns
  • Experience developing and supporting scalable, high-availability services operating under defined SLAs and performance expectations
