MMR Group, Inc - HSE Project Coordinator - Rio Tinto-Kennecott Site, Magna, Utah

Essential Job Functions: Balance out field time with time for administrative tasks and meetings. Host daily safety meetings, ensure compliance with client, MMR and OSHA policies. Perform jobsite audits/inspections, as well as scan/e‑mail monthly paperwork. Must be proactive and work well with upper management on the construction and HSE side.

Role Details: Pay: $38/hr. Per diem: None. Daytime work schedule: 5 days a week at 8–9 hours each day. Site: Copper Mine. Full Fleet Safety Approval Process Needed. Clean shaven required. Annual Respiratory Protection Fit‑Test (Full‑Face & Half‑Face). Heavy administration focus – proactive & organized with intermediate computer skills (spreadsheets & matrices). OSHA 500 or 501 required.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Vice President, HSE and/or the HSE Director, working with Divisional and Project Managers.
• Develop, revise, and implement safety training programs as needed.
• Implement, track, and monitor MMR’s HSE Management System.
• Conduct training and support the corporate safety department’s training plan.
• Maintain the training database.
• Provide safety support to all jobsites, including field audits, on‑site re‑training, follow‑ups, ensuring procedures are followed, and conducting safety meetings.
• Meet with clients on safety issues, pre‑job meetings, and evaluations.
• Assist in MMR and all required regulatory agency training for employees and supervisors.
• Track information for use in supervisor performance reviews and employee re‑training.
• Assist in MMR’s Supervisor Safety Training.
• Stay current on all regulatory agency regulations.
• Assist with accident investigations with Safety Director and/or superintendent.
• Complete reports for MMR and client.
• Escort insurance account representatives to job sites for evaluation.
• Implement, train, and maintain a database on Behavior Based Safety.
• Stay up to date on Client HSE standards, policies, and procedures.
• Attend safety training as directed.
• Commit to achieving a zero‑injury culture; understand and follow safety procedures.
• Travel to and from the jobsite via personal vehicle or public transportation.

Education and/or Experience

Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health preferred but not required; or minimum five years related experience. OSHA 500 Train‑The‑Trainer certification or equivalent, OSHA 510 or equivalent.

Certifications and/or Licenses

Valid Driver’s License or State ID, Social Security Card. State and/or local license/certifications may be required. Additional certifications a plus: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST), NFPA 70E knowledge.

Schedule

40‑hour workweek (Mon‑Fri) with some overtime as needed.
