Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

Ensure the efficient and effective maintenance of assets (including pipelines), facilities and equipment to support operational success and safety.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintains all facilities in compliance with all governmental regulations and Air Liquide policies.
  • Maintains all necessary licenses and permits.
  • Provides support for all regulatory training and maintains documentation .
  • Roll out and implementation of the AL turnaround standard operating procedure & ensure sustainable use thereof.
  • Lead the implementation of a standard maintenance planning system.
  • Reports and investigates all incidents and ensures corrective actions are complete.
  • Lead and coordinate maintenance activities at the different sites.
  • Lead the Maximo utilization effort as well as asset and work management practices.
  • Contribute to all performance evaluations, hiring, promotions and assignments for maintenance personnel.

Maintains all Facilities Safely and Reliably
  • Meets or exceeds company safety standards.
  • Ensures all maintenance is completed in compliance with the Safe Work Permit process.
  • Accountable for efficient execution of the Maintenance Management Process, emphasizing the TAR SOP.
  • Monitors, trends, and reports on the effectiveness of MMP through KPIs. Works with the Maintenance analyst to ensure accuracy of KPIs.
  • Keeps Maintenance documentation current, including equipment files and manuals, job plans, and Maximo records.
  • Assists with equipment troubleshooting as required. Establishes clear delegation of this authority to trained subordinates.
  • Fosters positive customer relationships both internal and external to the corporation.
  • Partners with the Plant Managers and Zone Directors to execute predictive and preventive maintenance to eliminate catastrophic failures and unplanned maintenance.
  • Sets and maintains high housekeeping standards to exemplify and improve the Air Liquide image.
  • Participates in new project planning and development to ensure reliability, accessibility, and maintainability of new equipment.
  • Adheres to Management of Change procedure.

Develops and Leads People
  • Models exemplary safety behavior, leads by personal example.
  • Actively champions the TAR SOP and leads by example in compliance with the process.
  • Coach employees and peers in their role in TAR SOP.
  • Works to achieve "Zero Accidents" by taking a leadership role in safety.
  • Conducts an annual performance review with each employee.
  • Implements individual development plans annually and provides training and coaching to improve performance.
  • Provides candid constructive input to management decisions and actively supports those decisions.
  • Insists on adherence to administrative and operational policies and procedures.
  • Completes Personal Development System goals as defined in annual review.

Manages Costs
  • Understands, monitors and optimizes maintenance costs within authorized budget.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to reduce costs within delegated authorization.
  • Participates in the capital planning process annually as well as with multi-year forecasts.
  • Controls overtime within established limits.
  • Continuously works to help improve efficiency and availability indicators.
  • Utilizes national purchasing agreements and frame agreements where possible.
  • Balances maintenance cost control and schedules with variable cost impact, end use customer impact, and overall operating income impact to AL.

Are you a MATCH?
Required Qualifications:
  • Mechanical / electrical engineering degree required or relevant qualification preferred plus 10+ years process industry experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
  • Technical and working understanding of the plant process - ASU, Cogen and CO2 or H2, Syngas and HyCO.
  • Frequent travel - typically 6 to 12 trips per year.
  • Extensive experience with Maintenance Planning and Scheduling and working within a maintenance system that requires both.
  • Ability to lead and coach employees and peers in Air Liquide's TAR SOP.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating and maintaining plants.
  • Ability to lead and participate in root cause analysis investigations.
  • Computer literacy - familiarity with Google suite of applications, able to remotely access Intranet and learn to use internal systems including Maximo and MS Project.
  • Trainable on Distributed Process Control (DCS) operation and troubleshooting.
  • Detailed knowledge of personnel and equipment planning and scheduling techniques to optimize cost vs. downtime.
  • Able to deliver and explain training material to maintenance personnel.
  • Extremely organized and effective at time management - able to establish and maintain equipment filing system and control of engineering documents. Ability to interpret key operating documents.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude for equipment operation and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of acoustic vibration technology as a predictive maintenance tool.
  • Detailed understanding of maintenance and technology of gas compression equipment.
  • Working knowledge of commercial agreements and AL customer relations.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • General understanding of accounting principles and working knowledge of maintenance operating budget.
  • Ability to work extended hours and shift work as business needs dictate. On call nights, weekends and holidays as required.
