Job description

Hospital Pharmacist

Inpatient experience within the last three years required. Under the direction of the Pharmaceutical Services Director, the hospital pharmacist is responsible for inpatient pharmacy pharmaceutical services at MMC including the procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of drugs by appropriate staff and ensures that pharmacy services of MMC are in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

General competencies include: professional behavior, positive working relationships with patients, visitors, and facility staff, organizational ability, time management, producing deliverables on time, reviewing pharmaceutical services, operating drug distribution systems efficiently, providing drug information to other health care professionals, maintaining the Pharmacy Services Policy and Procedure Manual, ensuring compliance with regulations, realizing cost savings through correct purchasing procedures, assisting with pharmacy licensure issues, serving as the pharmacist in charge of the hospital pharmacy, maintaining confidentiality of patient information, reviewing inpatient medication orders, identifying and verifying patients' home medications, maintaining pharmaceuticals and specialty boxes, maintaining quality assurance procedures, maintaining pharmacy and Omnicell inventory, resolving drug discrepancies, maintaining records of procurement, dispensing, and destruction of pharmaceuticals, maintaining ordering, billing, and invoice records, completing administrative tasks, providing weekend coverage of retail pharmacy, serving as the on-call pharmacist after hours, and other duties as assigned.

Shift: Varied - days, 5-8 hour shifts or 4-10 hour shifts, including some weekends
