Job description

Job Title

Responsibilities:

1. Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.

2. Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.

3. Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.

4. Review and release test results.

5. Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.

6. Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

7. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Maintaining the bench assigned to you. Including but not limited to maintenance, and quality control. Knowledge of specimen integrity and releasing of critical results.

Qualifications /Work Experience:

  • New grads welcome as long as they have a good attitude and are willing to learn
  • Experience with Mass Spec, HPLC, and LCMS are highly preferred
  • Molecular or Analytical Chemistry background will work well in this position

Education:

  • MLT or Bachelors
  • ASCP or AMT preferred
